\neye doctors usually have two separate prescriptions for contacts and normal lenses. you need an RX to upload to buy contacts online.

\r\nside note - some optometrists won't email or send you your prescription unless you ask explicitly because you can take the exam and run. Buy glasses/contacts elsewhere. they want you to do business through them most likely. but legally they are required to give it to you so you shouldn't run into problems asking for it.
